PCR COVID TESTS UPDATED SCHEDULING INFORMATION

In order to improve the service at the Hospital Metropolitano PCR Covid test site at Clinica Herradura in Los Sueños, Los Sueños has asked the hospital to increase coverage from 6 days to 7 days a week. Tests are administered between the hours of 12 noon and 6 pm, 7 days a week. Due to the extremely high volume of tests countrywide for citizens of the United States returning home, you should plan to have the test done 72 hours prior to your departure flight, with results being sent by email within 48-72 hours.

You won't receive a specific time for your appointment. You will only be able to select a day. In order to schedule a specific time and avoid line ups, you can call the clinic at 2637-8610. There is an administrative person ready to help you with questions and schedule the time for your test. The cost has increased from US$135 to US$150 per test plus 4% tax. In the event that you were unable to schedule the test in time, the Hospital has a 24-hour turnaround option for US$400 plus 4% tax; however, the number of rapid tests is limited and based on availability. Payment is received by credit or debit card only.
